Seeds Farm is hiring for the 2014 Growing Season

 

Farm Description:

Seeds Farm (seedsfarmproject.com) is a small-scale, diversified vegetable and animal farm committed to farming ecologically. We grow vegetables and raise hens and pigs for a CSA and wholesale accounts. We are located one mile south of Northfield. Seeds Farm is part of the umbrella organization, SEEDS Project. We share land with other farmers with similar goals.

 

Farm Hand (part time)

This season we will hire 2-3 farm hands. This position is meant for the individual who is excited to explore farming as a vocation, likes to work hard, and wants to learn the ins and outs of growing food for yourself and community. Farm hands will assist in all aspects of vegetable farming/animal husbandry.

***This is a part time position, ~mid-May – September, though alternative schedules can be considered for the exceptional candidate. $7.5/hr, plus produce.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to work in all sorts of weather conditions
  • Honest
  • Responsible, motivated and reliable
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs
  • Flexible and adaptable with the changing nature of farm schedule
  • Drama free
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Pleasant to be around
